Motion and Time| Worksheet Solutions| Class 7

Worksheet solutions for chapter: Motion and Time for class 7 are provided.

(1) Ram walked 1 km in 30 min.Find his speed.

Ans-

(2) Write T if statement is true and write F if statement is false.

(i) Year is a unit of time.

(ii) To move faster you will have to cover more distance in less time.

(iii) Odometer is used to measure distance.

Ans-

(i) Year is a unit of time. T

(ii) To move faster you will have to cover more distance in less time. T

(iii) Odometer is used to measure distance. F

(3) Show a time distance graph for non – uniform motion.

Ans-

Time distance graph is shown below-

(4) Complete the table given below-

S.N Name of the person Speed Time Distance
1. Reena 8km/h 5min
2. Ramesh 9km/h 8min

Ans-

1min = 1/60h

=0.016h

S.N Name of the person Speed Time Distance

(Speed × Time)

1. Reena 8km/h 5min= 5×.016              =.08h 8× .08=.64km
2. Ramesh 9km/h 8min = 8 ×.016

=.128h

9 × .128 = 1.152 km

(5) Speedometer of a vehicle shows

(i) Distance of the vehicle

(ii) Speed of the vehicle

(iii) Time taken by the vehicle

(iv) Location of the vehicle

Ans-

Speedometer of a vehicle shows

(i) Distance of the vehicle

(ii)Speed of the vehicle

(iii) Time taken by the vehicle

(iv)Location of the vehicle

(6) Name two type of clocks which are used in the ancient time to measure time.

Ans-

Name of two types of clocks are used in the ancient time to measure time are given below-

(i) Sundial clock

(ii) Water clock

(7) What is the uniform motion and non- uniform motion?

Ans- If the motion of an object moving along a straight line with a constant speed is called uniform motion. In this case, the average speed is the same as the actual speed.

If the speed of an object moving along a straight line keeps changing, its motion is called non- uniform motion.

(8) What is pendulum? Mark its part in the diagram.

Ans-

A simple pendulum consists of a small metallic ball or a piece of stone suspended from a rigid stand by a thread as shown in fig.

The metallic ball is called bob of the pendulum.

(9) Define oscillatory motion. Give two example of it.

Ans-

A motion by an object between extreme alternate within definite interval of time, is known as periodic motion or oscillatory motion.

Eg:-

(i)  Motion of see- saw

(ii) Motion of pendulum

(10) A distance time graph is shown in figure below. Choose the correct statement related to it.

(i) Graph shows uniform motion.

(ii) Vehicle is at rest.

(iii) Graph shows non constant motion.
