Ans- Rayon fibre is known as artificial silk. It is a manmade fibre. It can be obtained by chemical treatment on wood pulp. The fabric looks like silk. Therefore, it is called artificial silk.

 

(2) What is acrylic fibre? What is the use of it?

Ans- Acrylic fibre is also known as synthetic fibre. It is used in making of blankets, swearers and shawls. It is very cheap in comparison of natural fibre and available in many colours. So, acrylic fibre is becoming more popular.

 

(3) Why we do not get shock when we touch electric wires?

Ans- Electric wires are made up of thermoplastic which is a poor conductor of the electricity. Hence, when we touch electric wire we do not get shock.

 

(4) Why firemen do not caught fire when they are trying to extinguish fire?

Ans- The dress of firemen which they wear at the time of extinguishes fire has a layer of melamine. Melamine is fire resist. Hence, firemen do not catch fire when they are trying to extinguish fire.

Ans- Plastic is cheaper than metal but it is non-biodegradable. Hence, it is not environment friendly. If we use good made up of plastic frequently it will create more plastic garbage. Plastic takes several years to decompose. When we try to burn it, it releases poisonous fumes in air which causes air pollution. Therefore, we should not use plastic products to save our environment.
